CONNECTING TO NATURE

The same applies to all of the world’s extractive resources. It is true that, as an example, the oil industry would be extinguished and so there would be no more oil money. This would greatly upset everyone living the high life because of oil. But over the period of say 10 years, oil would be replaced with, whatever, and the global economy oil money would be replaced with the returns from that new ingredient.

However, when the storyline is combined with the visuals, and the layers, upon layers, of spiritual and metaphoric messages – that’s when the film becomes something extremely rare indeed. And a film that’s very important for this time on our planet.

I could put forward the possibility that, in Avatar, James Cameron wanted to present to us the incredibly negative and despicable attitudes that all too many people here on Earth have.

And he did it by contrasting the arrogant, greedy Earth humans – the badies; with the beautiful Spiritual 5th Dimension people on Pandora – the goodies.

I disagree with Lord Monckton that the planet is not heating. However, I argee with him that the primary cause is NOT CO2.
I am also STRONGLY against Environmental Trading agreements, and have been ever since that were first spoken of 15+ years ago. More on that in a separate post shortly.

The following link - FantasticTrip  will indeed take you on the most fantastic trip you’ve ever been on. It’s a power point slide show originally out in the 1970s called the Power of Ten. No matter how old it is, if you haven’t seen it before, make sure that you do take a look. And as you [...]

If I was still teaching sustainability subjects I would certainly has set this as required reading. But don’t let that frighten you off if you’re not at all academically inclined. Because the book is written in very easy to read and understand language, and one of the very best features that I did continue to rave about on-air are the diagrammatic pictorial illustrations.

This interview started out as a normal one-off talk with social scientist Bob Doppelt.  However, by about the 3rd segment of the show it became evident to me that we’d never cover everything that I wanted to cover with this wonderful man.  So in a commercial break I asked if he could return for round 2.  [...]

I read an article the other day in Our Planet which is the newsletter put out by E Magazine. It was titled “Greenwashing Rampant in Consumer Marketing” and was based on a recently released report from TerraChoice.  This report showed that of 2219 consumer products in Canada and the USA, 98% of them committed greenwashing. A [...]

Today I did something a bit different. You see a week or so ago I received my latest Habitat Magazine.  Habitat is the official magazine of one of Australia’s leading environmental groups – the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF).  And the magazine had an insert from the Environment Shop in Melbourne.  It was a catalogue of the [...]

I met Dr Wendy Sarkissian when I was a Doctoral student.  She came to my university – The University of Queensland – and gave a talk about some of her life experiences that led her to write her own Doctoral thesis.  There were so many similarities between Wendy’s life and her passion for nature and for [...]

Well I know that this is extremely late, however, I am currently out of the country travelling.  Now I know that is not a valid excuse, but it is the reason. The show on the 18th was a very special show with 2 significant segments. In the first segment, I spoke about the horrific bushfires that [...]

With regard to Climate Change, we keep hearing people say “we must do something now before it’s too late”. But “too late”, for what? Sadly, it’s about 20 or 30 years too late already. Climate change is already here and will not be stopped in the short-term. And it doesn’t matter who or what has [...]
